In Spring 2024, RCES students participated in a cedar weaving experience with shíshálh weavers Jess Silvey and Ali Casey thanks to funding from ArtStarts. Elder Robert Joe welcomed us to shíshálh territory for this meaningful project. Dozens of cedar mats were woven by students while learning the value and importance of cedar and weaving to Coast Salish peoples. The cedar weavings now hang in the stairwell up to the gym.
Thank you to all of the Silent Auction Donors and Volunteers who made the dance a wonderful success! Our Breakfast Table is now operating thanks to your generous donations.
